Detox Recipe: Mason Jar Salad Mix

Why Use Mason Jars?

I was well overdue for a detox and to get started I wanted to keep it fresh and clean without skimping out on the essentials-carbs and protein. Also, instead of my typical salad, I thought I'd add a little pizazz to my work lunch. What better eye candy than a beautiful rainbow salad in a mason jar? For the essentials, I added natural vegan proteins incorporating legumes and grains. For the best mason jar salad, I began by filling the bottom with salad dressing, then layering according to food type: dressing, legumes, grains*, fruit/vegetables,finally greens. Keeping the wet ingredients at the bottom prevents the entire salad from becoming soggy and stays fresh longer which is a wonderful feature for meal prepping (should stay fresh 4 days before use). I hope you enjoy this salad as much as I did!

Ingredients:
1/4  cup French Salad Dressing
1/4 cup Edamame
2/3 cup Quinoa
2/3 cup Mango
1/2 cup Strawberries
2/3 cup Blueberries
1/2 cup Spinach

Directions:
Assemble salad by adding salad dressing first, then layer each ingredient in order with Spinach as the last ingredient on top. When ready to get, give your salad a stir and ENJOY!

Review: Pacifica Stellar Glaze Mascara and Smoldering Eye Gel

Fresh out the box!

The reviews are in for
Pacifica's

                                                                               Stellar Gaze Mascara: Supernova

(New, on top, longer size, same price)

http://www.pacificabeauty.com/makeup/eyes/stellar-gaze-length-strength-mineral-mascara?id=236#tab-1
Ingredients:
Aqua, glycerin (vegetable), glyceryl stearate se, jojoba esters, tapioca starch, stearic acid ( vegetable), copernicia cerfera (carnauba) wax, euphorbia cerifera (candelilla) wax, arabic/acacia gum, acrylates, crosspolymer, potassium cetyl phosphate, microcrystalline cellulse (plant), cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, panthenol (vitamin b), cellulose gum, gluconolactone, macrocystis pyifera (brown kelp) extract, hydrolyzed oryza sativa (rice) protein, sodium benzoate, iron oxides c1 77499

Just 1 stroke gives you moderate fullness and length. To achieve a more dramatic look I applied mascara on top and underneath the lashes. There was little to no clumping. After it dried, my lashes felt soft all day without any smudging.

                                                                                    Smoldering Eye Gel

This was my very first time using a gel eyeliner. I like the option and versatility of creating a line, crease, or smokey eye with this product. It wasn't as bold and dark as traditional eyeliner and that was very disappointing. The product's texture leans more toward a soft cream which easily smears but I liked that it dried and did not smudge all day. You can't beat the results combined with all its natural and cruelty free properties.

Review: Giovanni Blackberry & Coconut Milk Shampoo, Conditioner, BodyWash, Lotion

I finally got my hands on* the latest products from Giovanni cosmetics newest line:

2chic Blackberry & Coconut Milk
http://www.giovannicosmetics.com/products/2chicrepair.asp?prodtype=2CHIC4&cat=2CHIC4&subcat=2CHIC4

Each product was intensely moisturizing, rich with concentrated ingredients, giving maximum results.
-vegetarian
-cruelty free
-lauryl & laureth sulfate free
-dye free
-paraben free
-PEG free
-rich in antioxidants Omega 3 & 6

Ultra-Replenishing Body Lotion & Body Wash are not only extremely moisturizing, but a little goes a very long way. My skin felt moisturized for over 12 hours and the BONUS- the scent never faded.
The body wash is sudsy as opposed to foamy which is common in natural body washes.

Ultra Repair Shampoo & Conditioner are perfect for dry, kinky, curly hair. Like all Giovanni conditioners, having a good slip, your hair will easily de-tangle and receive lots of moisture. Perfect for quenching those thirsty curls. For those sensitive to glycerin, it is the third ingredient in the conditioner. I am sensitive to it was well yet my hair was not affected by its presence. For the protein sensitive, as I am, Brazilian Cocoa Keratin Extract is tenth on the list for both products, yet being so low on the list and smaller amount than a protein treatment, did not affect my results or leave my hair feeling straw-like.

The SCENT (flirty, sweet, intoxicating) of all the products remains consistent when combined together. Alone, the body lotion smells slightly different at first but blends with the body wash.

All the products smell like sweet ripened berries blended with coconut milk, vanilla, almonds, and the warmth of the sun.

I am still impressed and have no buyer's remorse. It's exactly what Ive been looking for for some time and more importantly, it's natural and healthy for us and the earth.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
