Winter Berry Smoothie

It's winter! Most don't seem to get very excited about freezing, cold rainy weather, but our taste buds are jumping for its seasonal produce. Yes, Seasonal is always the best way to go. Popular tropical summer fruits can hit the wallet pretty hard in the winter. Yet, even in winter we can be supercharged with superfoods that are sweet and tangy and full of antioxidants. Besides apples, oranges, and melons there are berries that are reasonably prices, ripe and highly nutritious. Try this new recipe.
 


 
Ingredients:
1 cup blackberries
seeds of 1/2 pomegranate
2 frozen bananas
1 Tbsp chia seeds
1/2 cup nondairy milk
water
opt 1/2 cup spinach
opt splash of vanilla
 
Instructions:
Blend all ingredients until smooth or desired consistency & ENJOY!
