Review: Garden of Life Perfect Food , Country Farms Super Green Drink Mix, Paradise ORAC-Energy Protein & Greens

I've been a naughty girl lately and it caught up with me. The acidity from chocolate, starches, coffee, etc. have literally held me down. Thank goodness for alkalizing foods and supplements. If you have been skeptical or indecisive to try alkalizing green powders here are a few reason why you should:

1. Alkalizing/ Healing (blood, joints, liver, skin, etc)
2. Detoxification/ Purification (blood, digestive tract, liver, kidneys etc)
3. Probiotics/ Digestion
4. Adaptogens (not all carry stress fighting and calming herbs)
5. Vitamins & Nutrient Density
6. Plant protein & Iron
7. Energizing & Revitalizing
8. The benefits are noticeable within minutes!

Here are a few to consider:

Garden of Life Perfect Food RAW Organic (Priced $30.39+)

http://www.vitacost.com/productResults.aspx?N=0&ss=1&Ntt=garden%20of%20life%20perfect%20food%20apple

This was the first green powder that I tried. It was suggested that I avoid all acidic foods including chocolate flavored green powder mixes so APPLE was a great alternative. This powder was still rather "chalky" in texture after mixed in a blender cup that includes a blender ball. I found it best blended in a smoothie or juice.

For a little extra, the Protein & Greens were great for breakfast with the vanilla flavor offering a similar taste to cereal. https://www.gardenoflife.com/content/product/why-choose-raw-protein-and-greens/

Country Farms Super Greens Alkalizing Greens Blend ($14.97+)

http://www.walmart.com/ip/Country-Farms-Super-Greens-Alkalizing-Greens-Blend-Natural-Flavor-Dietary-Supplement-Powder-9.88-oz/46536624#about

Among it's many benefits it's very affordable and found locally at Wal-Mart. Most importantly it's the best tasting and best texture of all that I have tried. It blends very smoothly when shaken with the blender ball. It tastes great alone and it's affects are instant.

Paradise Herbs Energy Protein & Greens  (Price Range $27.49+)

This mix has all the best ingredients including adaptogens like Rhodiola (my favorite), Ashwagandha, Holy Basil, Ginseng, and Suma.

The unflavored is very bland (not even sweetly "green" like other green powders) and does not taste GREAT mixed with non-dairy milk. The taste is easily masked with fruits and juices in smoothies.

I hope you experience the same benefits my family has - I'd love to hear about it! So, please leave your comments below.

Review: Burt's Bees Soy Candle Wax Melts - Not Manufactured by Burt's Bees

I was so excited when I spotted quite a few Burt's Bees brand wax melts at my local Wal-Mart.
I warmed them up as soon as I got home. The fragrances were not over powering and did not affect my sinuses, but the ingredients were not labeled. So, I did a little digging and find out that although these melts carry the brand name of a company I have trusted for years they are not found on Burt's Bees site. Alarming, I know. Although this products carries the name it is not manufactured by Burt's Bees and honestly there is no telling what ingredients are used. I noticed the jar candles are labeled to use "soy".

As if that wasn't disappointing enough, after the first two melts the product dissipated but did disappear in a timely manner after heating. The separation of solid and "liquid" remained for quite some time as opposed to other wax melts. I associate authenticity of  natural and organic products with the time it takes to break down and disintegrate.

More importantly after the waxes were heated there was no longer a distinguishing of the labeled scents. They all melted and faded into one - Vanilla. Not that It was unpleasant but simply unwanted.

No, I will not purchase again until there is a label one the front that says "New and Approved" and on the back clearly lists the ingredients.
